The customers had loved the Amazon Go shops. The first shop was opened on the 22nd of July 2018, there were 48 shops in the USA by 2023 but then the project was stopped.
Why there was no success?
Too expensive CAPEX for 1m2 and too complicated technology: simultaneous recognition of the purchases and monitoring of the customer’s movements inside the shop.
